NightHawk Bench vs BlackWing

The BlackWing™ and NightHawkbenches may share names with stealth aircraft, but they bring power and precision down to earth in the form of two high-performance adjustable benches built for lifters by lifters.

While both benches are part of REP’s premium 5000 Series lineup and share useful features like vertical storage, Leg Roller Attachment compatibility, and easy, built-in mobility, they serve different lifter preferences and training setups.

Here’s how they compare, and how to know which one belongs in your gym.

BlackWing™ Bench: Premium Performance with ZeroGap® Precision

The BlackWing Bench

The BlackWingadjustable bench is REP’s most premier flat-incline-decline bench. It blends the best features from REP’s top benches into one heavy-duty, customizable powerhouse.

One of its standout features is the ZeroGap® technology, which eliminates the gap between the seat and back pad in any position, enhancing comfort and stability while you lift. Combine that with 12 back pad angles and six seat angles, and you get incredible adjustability: from decline (-8°) to nearly upright (85°), and everything in between.

Want a high-end feel while training? The ratcheting seat adjustment system lets you change angles with a simple lift no pin pulling necessary. Just lift to go up, use the pop-pin to go down. Add to that the wide pad option (14”), IPF competition height, grippy CleanGrip™ vinyl, and 11-gauge steel construction, and this bench becomes a top choice for lifters who want max stability and customization.

It’s a hefty bench at 131lbs, but still easy to move thanks to stainless-steel handles and heavy-duty wheels. Plus, it stores vertically taking up just 3.1SQFT of space, thanks to an integrated metal stand with a protective liner. Bonus: You can even get it in a clear coat finish for an elevated look.

Best for: Lifters who want the most advanced features, ZeroGap® precision, wide pad options, and ultra-durable construction.

NightHawk™ Bench: Stealthy, Space-Saving, and Surprisingly Capable

Don’t let the sleeker frame fool you; the NightHawkadjustable bench brings serious strength with a more compact, budget-friendly design.

It’s based on REP’s popular AB-4100, with upgraded features like a wide rear foot and full-contact front foot for better stability, without adding extra weight. At just 88lbs, it’s lightweight and maneuverable but still meets IPF height standards and supports demanding lifts with ease.

It may not have ZeroGap® technology, but the gap between the seat and back pad is minimal a noticeable upgrade over standard benches. The closed ladder-style adjustment system offers seven back pad positions (0–85°) and four seat angles, covering all the classic incline options. The CleanGrip™ vinyl, knurled front handle, and sleek hardware elevate the aesthetics while offering comfort and grip.

The NightHawk bench is also future-proof, with compatibility for upcoming attachments like a leg curl/extension. It’s designed for both home gyms and boutique studios that need smart space efficiency without giving up quality or versatility.

Best for: Lifters who want a lighter, simpler bench that’s easy to store and move, with all the essential features for strong, stable lifts.

How are the BlackWing™ and NightHawkBenches Similar?

Vertical Storage: Both benches store upright, but the BlackWingbench includes an integrated stand with a plastic liner, whereas the NightHawk bench uses a rubber-coated post.

Price Point: The BlackWing bench is positioned at a higher price point due to its advanced features. The NightHawkbench is more budget-friendly while still delivering strong performance.
