The new Equalizer™ iron plates are made in the USA. They feature a premium metallic black E-coat finish throughout, including on the embossed numbers and letters (the original version had white painted text). Additionally, the updated version features a smooth outer rim with beveled edges for comfort, whereas the original version had a rounded outer rim.
E-coat is a finishing process where the plate is dipped in a bath containing the finishing particles, and an electric current is applied to the plate to apply the finish to it. E-coat provides a more premium look than powder coat and applies more evenly to the plate.
We do not recommend mixing any other plates with our bumpers because the nonuniform diameters can create uneven stress on the bar, which may damage it over time.
We do not recommend dropping iron plates, as it can damage the bar, the plates, and the floor.

I question sometimes the moniker "Made in the US" because there are plenty of US companies that make crap. Not true with these. Super high quality, with top notch fit and finish. Practically flawless and looks cool as hell! These are what is meant by "Made in the US."

Old school feel with modern looks and practical design. The holes make them easy to carry and do certain exercises.

Solid plates and I do really like them. My only complaint is that the finish is inconsistent with the plates. I purchased 6. Of the six, only a couple have the desired, smooth thick edge finish. The others have bumps. Merely cosmetic, but the prestine ones are awesome!
