REP’s Curl Bar (also known as an EZ curl bar) features a bent shaft to reduce joint strain. EZ curl barbells are cambered, allowing for a semi-supinated grip to limit the stress on the wrists and elbows. This bar weighs 30lbs and is 4’6” long. As such, it cannot be racked in a standard-size power rack. It features the same medium-depth knurling as REP’s best-selling, mixed-use barbells. This knurling provides great grip without tearing up your hands.
The Curl Bar is available in a hard chrome finish with a matte appearance, which is rust-resistant and more durable than regular chrome. The bar is also available in a full, stainless-steel option, which is a higher grade of metal and even more resistant to rust. With one needle bearing and one bushing per sleeve, this Curl Bar provides the perfect combination of spin and stability, while further reducing joint strain and helping isolate different muscle groups.

No, this curl bar is not designed to be rackable. REP does offer a rackable version though.
REP’s barbells are designed to work with any Olympic plates with 2” diameter center holes.
Both bushing and bearing sleeves produce sufficient sleeve rotation, but ball or needle bearings allow for a faster, smoother, quieter spin and have a more reliable turnover for maximum loads, which is a better fit for Olympic-style lifts. By comparison, a bushing sleeve is more efficient for powerlifting movements, which are slower and more strength focused.
Stainless steel is a higher grade of metal. It is more resistant to rust than chrome or zinc-finish barbells and more aesthetically pleasing.
You’ll want to remove dirt or chalk from the knurling with a brush and oil on a microfiber cloth. You also should occasionally remove the external sleeve to oil and fully clean it. Check out the REP Barbell Maintenance Video in the Video Gallery section above for more information.
