What is the difference between the original HR-5000 and the Omni?
The original HR-5000 base only has holes for two pairs of uprights, spaced 20” apart, and it has the upper crossmembers (specific to this version) and upper band pegs.
The Omni Base has more configurations, which allows more placement options for the uprights. You can choose to do a four-post, six-post, or open rack instead of just the standard configuration for the original HR-5000.
The Omni also utilizes the PR-5000 power rack crossmembers and Logo Plate Crossmember for the uppers, which means they’re compatible with the 5000 Series attachments, and you could use those upper rack components if you ever decided to switch to a different rack (PR-5000 or Apollo). In addition, the Omni doesn’t have the upper band pegs like the original HR-5000 has.
