We do not recommend mixing any other plates with our bumpers because the nonuniform diameters can create uneven stress on the bar, which may damage it over time.
The Rubber Coated Olympic Plates are iron plates with a rubber coating. While the rubber coating adds durability and helps reduce noise, we do not recommend dropping iron plates, as it can damage the bar, the plates, and the floor.

I’m super happy with my purchase of the rubber REP weights. Only downside is that the 45lb plates are not standard height, but I don’t compete so this isn’t really an issue. The plates are super quiet to load on the bar, and they look great!

Purchased a 355 pound set of these plates so my wife could have an easier time loading them on the barbell instead of the bumper plates that I have from Rogue. Pleasantly surprised that the rubber smell is minimal to nonexistent and the design of these really makes it nicer to load onto the bar with the larger handle cutouts. I was going between these and the Equalizer plates, but went with these in the end and couldn’t be happier. Price, ease of loading, and even the look of them matches the rest of my red and black gym equipment.
